Nouveau 18K Shimmering Enamel Flower Brooch with Diamond (Item #AN-18kfloral)

This brooch is really breathtaking... It is a very lifelike 18k gold floral brooch with shimmering green and yellow enamel (to suggest reflected sunlight). It measures 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" across, and is very dimensional. The ends of the petals are bent purposely to add realism. Even the backs of the petal tips that are exposed to the front are enameled with yellow shimmery enamel. In the center is a sparkling white old cut diamond surrounded by 6 gold rods tipped with black enamel which emulate the stamens (?). Please see the additional photos to get an idea of the dimensionality of the piece.

The only apology I note is upon close inspection, the bottom third of one of the petals does not appear as shimmery as the rest. This suggests possible enamel restoration in this section. It is not obvious, and would not be noticed when you wear the piece. Other than that, the piece is in excellent condition. It is extremely well made. Period pieces of this quality are difficult to come by. The reverse is marked 750 which is a European hallmark for 18K gold. I suspect the origin of this brooch is French as they were well known for this shimmering enamel technique.
