Sterling Abstract Biomorphic Brooch by Lore (Item #PM-lore)

To inquire or purchase, please contact Reference Item #PM-lore.

Nice constructivist Sterling silver mod brooch by Lore, circa 1950s. It measures 2" across and 1 9/16" tall. The design features a bean or heart-shaped piece on the left with two square cross section wires emanating from the back and curving around to the front. The heart shaped piece is slightly convex, and has a somewhat brushed finish. It is in very good condition and is well constructed. The back is signed: "LORE STERLING".

Not much is known about this artist, but there are a few pieces by Lore on the internet. There is a pair of earrings that match this brooch on the 20th Century Arts-Artifacts website, and a different pair of earrings on the Auerbach & Maffia website.
