Huge, fabulous Sterling art deco ring with hematite, coral, and marcasites by Theodor Fahrner, circa 1927. Ring size is approximately 6 (smaller than 6 1/2, larger than 5 1/2), and top measures 11/16" x 1 5/16". Strong deco design with 7/16" square hematite (dark shiny gray stone) and 6 square coral stones surrounded by marcasites. Hematite is slightly loose in setting. Tops of coral are worn smooth in some areas, and the corners of two of the square corals are slightly chipped. Can't see this without a loupe or very close inspection, and does not detract from the piece at all. Signed: STERLING, TF in circle (Fahrner hallmark), GERMANY. Excellent condition, and extremely well made.

Theodor Fahrner is Germany's best known jewelry manufacturer, and is highly collectible. Examples can be found in many books, especially the fabulous book devoted to Fahrner jewelry, Theodor Fahrner Jewelry... Between Avant Garde and Tradition. Deco Fahrner jewelry is particularly desirable, and this is a superb example of exceptional design with various stones.
