Rare English arts & crafts Sterling enameled hatpin by William H. Haseler, retailed by Liberty & Co. This is so typical of the "Liberty Style". Hammered silver surface, bright blue, green, and purple enamel. Head measures 7/8" diameter and a little more than 1/16" thick, total length is approximately 7 3/4". Marked on reverse for Sterling silver, Birmingham 1908, WHH. Excellent original condition, nice patina.

The button version of this hatpin design is in the catalog "Liberty Style" by Victor Arwas which accompanied an exhibit of Liberty goods in Parco, Tokyo. The picture is on page 141, plate S-35. Description on page 121 for the buttons reads: "Set of six buttons, 'Wave', with blue and green enamel. Marked: L & Co, Birmingham 1910. Original Liberty box."
